A BIT ABOUT ME

Freelance graphic + web designer

Born and raised in Plymouth, Devon, I am a friendly, professional and enthusiastic freelance graphic and website designer. I studied Graphic Communication with Typography at the University of Plymouth, specialising in Identity and Branding. With 12 years experience in the industry under my belt, I am proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite software, in particular Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I am self-taught in HTML and CSS with an ambition to further my coding abilities in the future. My expertise in both print and web design, has led me to work with a wide range of clients on projects ranging from logo and branding work, website design and build, to leaflet and brochure design, and signage.

Each project I undertake is very important to me. I always take the time to really understand each brief and company before beginning a project, so that I can create something that really meets the needs of each client.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

When I’m not working
I’m playing.

Designer. Wife. Mother. Like most people I have many roles to play, which is one of the reasons I made the jump and became a freelancer as it allows me to better balance the different aspects of my life. When I’m relaxing I enjoy craft activities such as dressmaking, hand-lettering, general making and creating, sometimes photography, as well as pilates, body combat and just spending time with my family and friends. If you didn’t have time to read this, I’ve made some nifty icons to sum up my hobbies and passions.

Great client feedback

We were lucky enough to be introduced to Jess through one of our client companies. Jess guided us easily through the process of designing a logo for our company. Her prices are extremely competitive and her work is very professional. Her designs interpreted our ideas brilliantly, and we think you will agree the final logo design is fantastic. We will have no hesitation in using Jess Cook Design for further work once we are in a position to do so. Thanks Jess!

She is a highly talented web designer, and an expert on both the technical and design sides. She knew exactly how to make the site look excellent on both laptop and mobile. Her communication was always fast and professional, and she accommodated all of my requests for minor changes to ensure the site looks exactly as I want it to. I highly recommend Jess.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jess Cook has always been an absolute joy to work with from start to finish. She brought my new book Enerjoy! for Active Families to life with such creativity, clarity, and attention to detail, truly exceeding all expectations.

Jess has an incredible ability to take a vision and elevate it into something vibrant, engaging, and beautifully cohesive. She immediately understood the tone and purpose of the project and translated that into a brilliant design that so many people have already commented on.

Her communication was seamless throughout. She is patient, reliable, and open to feedback, always finding thoughtful and creative solutions to any challenges. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and her enthusiasm for the project really shone through.

Jess has also helped me produce a recipe and nutrition booklet for my charity CRuNCH, again delivering everything thoughtfully and on time. The final product is fantastic and much admired by both students and teachers.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jess to anyone looking for a talented, reliable, and genuinely inspiring designer. I’m so proud of what we’ve created together.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently worked with Jess Cook Design to create a brand-new website for Bobo Hair Lounge, and we couldn’t be happier with the results, Jess completely understood our brand, our vibe, and what we wanted to achieve. The whole process was smooth, collaborative, and super professional.

The website looks stunning, feels modern and premium, and perfectly reflects who we are as a salon. Jess was full of great ideas, and made even the technical bits easy for us to understand.

If you need a website that looks amazing and actually works for your business, we highly recommend Jess Cook Design. Thank you, Jess — we absolutely love it!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jess has done a great job in creating a new LinkedIn banner for my personal and my company page. She made great suggestions and was super patient, especially when it came to the nitty-gritty in the final phase… :-) The banner is much cleaner and professional now, and I have different versions to choose from – so good! Thanks a lot!

It was a pleasure working with Jess and I will continue working with her in the future.

I can't recommend Jess enough

Thank you Jess
